Second Life

I have been using Second Life for a short time and I can already tell its addicting! I find it amusing and interesting and challenging but easy at the same time. I thought at first it would be annoying because the first time I was assigned a project in SL my computer was slow and my avatar lagged a lot so it was frustrating but now that I have a fast connection I love it. I shop for free stuff for hours and meet up with Andy and we crack up at all the crazy objects we have collected. I have a unicorn and a dolphin and a cage shooter and sooo many crazy things. We can give each other all the funny things we have and have dance parties in wheel chairs and teleport anywhere we want.
All together I think SL is great. But now I can't get upset at my boyfriend for playing DDO (you know what I mean) well its like SL sorta but for nerdy boys. At least I have an excuse its for class haha
I love the fact that I can be anyone I want and look any way I want and do practically anything I want to do and not get in trouble or have to wait. Its a fantasy land under my control with certain limitations.
I prefer to create my avatar how I would like to look in real life most the time. I'd rather not have it look like me for many reasons. Although I pick clothing in the colors and styles I like but just more extreme from what I wear and a lot sexier. My avatars identity is constantly changing but with the same conscience. Its me but how I'd want to look and with an awesome wardrobe and collection of miscellaneous objects and vehicles as well as the ability to fly.

Without new media

Hi, this is the first blog I have even created! It's exciting a wee bit. This is my attempt at a creative arts blog. So here it goes...
I have been interested in art ever since I could hold a crayon, and having my aunt as an artist was helpful too. I always knew I would be involved in a career in the arts or at least having a job that allows a creative license. After several courses involving new media I am pretty sure that my career will involve working with video and computers. I know I have much to learn but I really enjoy creative editing of videos. This is the only thing I actually would enjoy doing the rest of my life as a career.
I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t find new media. I am horrible at everything else! I wouldn’t be able to survive at a regular job, I am far from normal for any 9 to 5 desk job. I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t take my first new media course. I would probably be an aspiring bum.
Asking for money on a street corner or maybe move to Canada. Try being a Canadian for a while, see what that’s like. I don’t know maybe I’ll learn to blow glass and be a glass blower. Now that I think of it, I don’t even know if my naive plan of becoming an amazing video editor will even work, so I could possibly become a Canadian. I am hoping for the best and trying to work hard to get to where I want to be in life so I can have a retirement plan and to support my family, whenever that happens.
